We're bucking the status quo of 'beach body ready' and redefining 'beach body positivity' as the norm this summer!
Welcome back to the House of Goodness blog! In-between Smoky Lentil BBQs and salads with Mediterranean Quinoa, we couldn’t help but notice the plethora of ‘beach body ready’ posts, selfies and articles taking over our feeds. We get it. The sun’s shining and summer is here, who doesn’t want to look great? But who’s to say we aren’t all, already, ‘beach body ready’? Here’s how you can be yourself and feel beach body positive.
Full of Goodness are advocates of healthy bodies but also healthy minds. Instead of trying to keep up with those unrealistic ideals online, focus on feeling fresh this summer and take it from the ones that know how to be head and body strong! We’re talking clear minds and allowing nothing to cast a shadow over your blissful moments in the sun.
The first step to feeling and looking great on the beach, in the garden, on holiday or at home is to forget the ‘beach body ready’ stereotype (put your phone down and stop over-analysing that ab-heavy Instagrammer)! What seems like the norm on social media is often the result of a full-time career at the gym and carefully selected filters. And there are lots of them, it’s easy to see how we can get caught up in this fantasised image. Real life isn’t like that. We have jobs, kids and are lucky to get a couple of sessions at the gym in our busy lifestyles so don’t feel bad! It’s time to re-define ‘normal’ and to start feeling good for doing you, and you only. Start by being confident in your own body and working as hard as you can to be healthy… meaning a balanced lifestyle!
