Full of Goodness has one message and it’s simple: be balanced in all aspects of life and you’ll be happy.
We’re not advocating crash diets, cutting out carbs (or whatever your weakness is), deleting Insta or becoming a gym junkie just because life is apparently a happier place when you go all out on keeping those “vices” in check. After reading that people spend up to around 24 hours a week on devices, we decided to dedicate this blog to prising you away from your screen for a little while with healthier habits and diverting your eyes to the best high def visual stimulation you’ll ever find, right outside your window.
In the words of motivational speaker Prince Ea, “touchscreens are making us lose touch, meeting face to face has reverted to FaceTime, and chats have been reduced to Snaps”. Our first tip is easy – keep the abbreviated conversations to arranging meet ups and actually going to see your loved ones! Short on time? Tag team the gym together or meet up for coffee on your newly reclaimed lunch break, thanks to the ready-in-one-minute Full of Goodness grains and pulses. Get some fresh air and try out a cycle route? Who needs media over-stimulation when you can stimulate your body and mind with something it’s not used to doing?
Get out and about as part of your digital detox; retreat somewhere completely new where you can take in the views and channel your inner explorer! Why not cancel one of the many online media subscriptions you have and become a National Trust member? Ditch the #TBT post, think ahead and plan your big day out instead. Forget social Sunday, leave your sofa and pick a random place to go with friends. We’ll let you off with taking pictures; maybe just refrain from updating your Insta story every two minutes! A low battery is one bar closer to being more in touch with everything… Whatever you do, you’ll feel way better for it than sitting behind a screen.
Our last piece of advice is to take a step back and try focusing on yourself and the things you really enjoy doing. We tend to multitask so much that when we misplace our phone, we act like we’ve lost a child… We all just need a break from the fast-paced, on-demand, instant feedback world we live in. Any adventure seekers out there? Learn a new language. Perfect for those that want to really explore and get a taste of the world beyond the authentic flavours in your Full of Goodness lunch.
Don’t get us wrong, we LOVE the benefits of technology. If it wasn’t for social and the web, we wouldn’t be able to share our passion with all of you! It’s allowed us to inspire everyone to live healthier and happier, and it all started with a pouch. But we wouldn’t be true to ourselves if we didn’t advocate digital intake and media consumption done in moderation. Don’t get caught up on things like likes and instant replies. Incorporate your devices into your active lifestyle – tracking your fitness, music motivation on a run, virtual yoga tutorials and new recipe ideas all get the Full of Goodness tick from us!
